Flower Power

These jeans and bandana are from a cute store called Boho Hobo, where all proceeds go to The Central Asian Institute.

From their notecard:

THE CENTRAL ASIAN INSTITUTE  is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission to promote and support community-based education, especially for girls, in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan.    We believe that by educating children, especially girls, we promote peace in the region. There is compelling evidence that extending and improving education for girls has a huge impact on economic growth, on raising healthy and stable families. and lessening the powers of  extremist groups. (which usually recruit the poor and illiterate)

Educate a boy, and he leaves his community in search of a brighter future elsewhere, educate a girl and she brings her skills and knowledge to the aid of her village.  To educate a girl  is of the greatest impact to her community and the nation.

How very cool!

I bought several items during my visit there so I’ll be blogging a few looks over the next day or so containing them. I know you can hardly wait. 😛

I must say, Well Done! Perion, the colors and composition and finish of the outfit and photos are superb. A riot of color, but at the same time so pleasing to the eye.

And it is with great interest I hear about the charity and BoHo Hobo. I rushed over there to find a large selection of very nice clothing at an amazing price AND meet the owner, Trill Zapatero. I wish her an the organization the best of successes.

    /me encourages everyone to go!
