I give up

I wanted to try Hybie’s “80′s Icon Blogger Challenge”, and when I googled “80′s Icon” my eyes immediately landed on this image of Madonna, from her “Desperately Seeking Susan” days.

I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to recreate this look, and pretty much failed.  Maybe I’m not any good at this, maybe I’m too hard on myself, or maybe I should have picked something easier.   But anyway, I’m posting it, cuz I spent way too much time not to.

I spent about an hour fiddling with my shape, trying to get something similar to Madonna’s face and ended up with something so hideous that my own shape was a better match.    That hair has Exile written all over it, and I think, by flipping the photo, I got a decent match.  The Tuli skin isn’t a bad match either, although the lips should have been more matte.  I couldn’t find a gold striped blouse or a black glitter jacket, to save my life, so you have to settle for texture loaded on a prim, and a jacket that in no way resembles the original.

It was still fun trying, and hey, I learned something.  I learned I can’t make shapes for sh*t! Thank goodness there are talented people in SL who can!
